About
PocketPlay Review started as a group chat where a few friends kept recommending games to each other. At some point we figured other people might want the same kind of straight talk, so we turned it into a proper site.
Everything here is written after we've actually put hours into a game. We don't cover something just because it's trending. If a title bores us in the first twenty minutes, we say so rather than padding out a review.
We pick games across every genre because tastes differ. One week it's a slow strategy game, the next it's a twitchy arcade racer. Variety keeps the writing honest and stops us from grading everything against the same yardstick.
The team is small, which we like. It means one person can champion a weird indie title and get it covered, instead of it drowning under the big releases.
Mikael Lindqvist — Mikael has been reviewing games since flip phones ran Snake. He's the one who insists we finish a game before scoring it.
